I was so excited to be called back for a second year by the Berkshire County Kids' Place to work with them on their biggest fundraiser of the year. For 2017, they chose an Enchanted Forest Theme. They make every year bigger than the last, and were eager to hear my ideas. I'm given a lot of creative leeway on a project like this, but since it's a fundraiser, I must be creative with BIG, yet economically achievable ideas.
Texture lighting was splashed across the ceiling to create this moolit tree canopy. A custom monogram was thrown a great distance to add the high-definition full moon.
The gala committee elected to rent my exclusive fleet of slant top glass vases. They did a great job of filling them with an earthy combination including gravel, mosses and mounds of curly willow. Their table decor included similar elements and I highlighted each masterpiece with it's own carefully located ceiling mounted wireless pinspot. In the background you can see a massive dark back drop reminiscent of a starry sky. Together we brainstormed its design, but the client provided and hung the dark, see-through fabric and string lights over a pipe and drape frame I installed along the back wall of the venue.
Uplighting was used along the perimeter of the ballroom. A specially mixed shade of blue bathed the room in the same dreamy glow used in the moolit ceiling design. Green uplights were used under the venue's and client provided trees.
This custom monogram (and another one just like it) aimed skyward created a stunning view on the ceiling of the auction room. Attendees were left awestruck as they made their way slowly through the long, narrow, busy space that is central to the fundraising efforts of this organizations's largest, most integral annual fundraising event.
