When should you book?

Booking the entertainment for your event is one of the biggest decisions you'll have to make. The longer you wait to do this, the fewer options you will have. Dates are first come, first served. I only book one event per day, and I am the only DJ you will work with if you book my service. That being said, I am in demand, particularly during the peak wedding season in the Northeast which runs from June to October, usually on Saturdays. Most Saturday dates in my calender beginning in June and through October book 12 months ahead, on average.

The best thing to do is set up a time for us to meet. First meetings are casual and informal, usually 40 minutes to an hour long, never involve money or a contract or other pressure-sale tactics, and are intended for you to "put a face to the name." It's a chance for us to meet and get a feel for what it might be like to work together. Best of all, I am prepared to answer all of your questions on the spot, and give you as much of my time and attention as you would like. 

Contracts and Retainers

When you're ready to book, I will collect some information from you and fill out a contract and email it to you (followed by a hard copy which will be mailed to you the good old-fashioned way). After the contract you will receive other worksheets and questionnaires you'll need to fill out if your event is a wedding. The only thing you have to do as soon as you can (usually within 14 days of receiving your contract) is carefully read, sign, date, and return the contract with your contract signing fee (usually a third of the contract price). Once I receive your signed contract and first payment you're booked! You will then be mailed a signed copy of the contract and proof of your first payment.

 

Final balances are payable in full or in installments, by cash, check, or credit card... basically however and whenever you like... but you must be paid in full by the date specified in your contract (usually 4 weeks before the date of the contracted performance).

How I hold a date

For serious inquiries who've already enjoyed a free, 40-minute no obligation sit-down meeting with me, I'll hold a date for 1 to 2 weeks to allow a confident, informed choice to be made. When you're ready, I'll draft your time-sensitive contract.

 

The longer you wait after our meeting, the better the chances are that I will receive another inquiry for your date. If that happens, I'll contact you so I can be sure you're not in need of my services and you'll have 24-48 hours to get back to me with your answer. This way, you'll never feel pressured at our first meeting to sign on the dotteed line, and after we've met, you won't have to worry that you'll lose your chance to book my services. In return, my availability is neatly organized, and I can usually respond to new inquiries within 12 to 24 hours with whether I am available on any given date.
