Pin spot lighting (or pinspotting, pinning, or pin spotting) uses sharp beams of bright focused light to highlight or accent parts of your decor. Each specialized light is mounted as high as possible and produces a single beam of concentrated white light aimed downward or at an angle to light your centerpieces, table centers, or other special things like your wedding cake, dessert stations, and card cages.

At weddings, emphasis may be placed on lighting only the centerpieces on "sweetheart" or head tables, although it's possible to light every centerpiece. Still others may not limit the effect to the centerpieces or table tops but highlight other special things, like the cake table, guest book table, or dessert station. The choice is yours!
